Charles Edward “Doc” Dockery, age 68 of Maryville, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway Systems after 32 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Rollen Dockery; mother, Nettie Brown Dockery; brothers, Douglas McArthur Dockery, G.M. “Junior” Dockery, R.L. Dockery, Robert R. “Bobby” Dockery; sisters, Betty Earlene Dockery; Beecher Dockery, Lucille McMahan and sisters in law, Mary Ellen Hill Dockery, Barbara Jennings Dockery, Virginia Myers Dockery; brothers in law, Pink Evans and Reuel Jennings. Survivors include his loving wife, Judith Crabtree Dockery of Maryville; brothers and sisters in law, Morris E. “Jerry” and Evelyn Dockery of Maryville; Earnest Paul and Reba Dockery of Hayesville, NC; sisters, L.V. Evans of Maryville, Violet Jennings of Clinton; sisters in law, Bessie Dockery of Murphy, NC and Mary Bess Dockery of Maryville; sister in law, Teresa K. Crabtree of Maryville and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Special friends Liz and Ben Best, Kay and Bill Pearson, JoAnna and Mike Belcher, Archie and the late Jane Clark, Pat and Jack Myers. Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice staff and nurses for their special care. Pallbearers, David Jennings, Thomas Jennings, John Bowlden, Mike Hagler, Mick Dockery, Craig Dockery and Phillip Renfro. Funeral service 7:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel Rev. James Beasley officiating and eulogy by Archie Clark. Graveside service and interment 11:00 AM Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
