WHEELER , JOHN HOWARD - age 83, of Louisville, died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Alcoa-Way Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II. He retired from ALCOA and was a member of their 25-Year Club. Preceded in death by parents, Robert B. and Ellen Hitch Wheeler . Survivors include wife of 54 years, Maxine Dyke Wheeler ; son, Tom Wheeler of Louisville; daughter, Pat Wheeler Poole of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jana and Jordan Poole of Franklin; brothers, R.B. "Pickle" Wheeler of Louisville, James A. Wheeler of Uniontown, Ala., and William D. Wheeler of Marion, Ala.; sister, Nell Wheeler Burns of Townsend, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2002, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Gary Davidson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to Alcoa-Way Baptist Church. Friends may call at their convenience after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Smith Mortuary.
