Beulah Dennis McCarter, age 94 of Sevierville, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, December 10, 2003. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined Pearl Valley Baptist Church. She was a 1929 graduate of Sevier County High School and attended E.T.S.U. where she earned her Teacher’s Certificate. She taught elementary school in Sevier and Knox Counties and retired in the 1970’s. Following retirement, she helped in teaching Vacation Bible School in several churches and worked in the Baptist Book Store for several years.
Beulah married Amos P. McCarter in 1940. Soon after their marriage, they established their home in San Francisco, California where they became active members of First Baptist Church, teaching in Sunday school and Amos serving as a deacon. They returned to Sevier County in the 1950’s where they joined First Baptist Church, Sevierville. They were active members serving as teachers in the Sunday School Department for over thirty years where they touched many lives.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Amos McCarter who died May 5, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents John D. and Tina McMahan Dennis; brothers, J. Walter, Fred and Blaine Dennis; sisters, Dora Proffitt Valentine, Frances Mize, Sarah Mae Large.

Funeral service 2 PM Sunday in The Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating. Music provided by Rev. Scott Andrews. Interment will follow in Middle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12-2 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
