Downey, age 68, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at UT Medical Center. He attended Lakeview Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Coker Downey, and brother Marvin Downey. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Diane Brewster Downey; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Lisa Downey of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Tammy Downey Wilson of Knoxville; grandsons, Peyton Downey and Chase Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 John Sevier Highway on Monday at 9:30 AM for graveside services, Rev. AJ Crawford officiating.
