DOWNEY, JOYCE L. – age 67, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at her home with her loving husband by her side. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Marvin Downey; two daughters, Beth Johnson and husband Brian and Chris Hayes and husband Mike; one son Chris Hadley; two grandchildren Calista Jones and Aaliyah Hadley; two brothers James Riggsbee and Arthur Riggsbee; one sister Helen Hancock; and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a chapel service to follow with the Rev. A.J. Crawford officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 4, 2012 and proceed to Mt. Olive Cemetery for an 11:00 A.M. graveside service. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Dialysis Clinic on Martin Mill Pike for all of their love and support over the past years.
