(July 29, 1945 - July 24, 2015) Peggy Ann Blackwell, 69, of Newport, passed away, Friday, July 24, 2015 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Thelma Hurley. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Blackwell, daughter, Lisa (Danny) Chapman, grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Brandon Brown, and Brad (Kayla) Antrican. Special sister-in-law, Carolyn (Edgar “Me-Do”) Parks and special nephew, Shannon D. Parks all of Newport. Step-daughter, Tina Stamey and family of Waynesville, NC., and a host of extended family. The family would like to extend heartfelt “Thank You” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 26, 2015 in the Brown Funeral Home chapel from 5-7pm. Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Jackie Caldwell officiating. Interment services will be Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11am with Artie Sturm officiating at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
