Ralph and Colene (Sims) Fowler of Louisville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2-5 p.m. March 17 at Dogwood Manor in Knoxville. They request that gifts be omitted. The couple were married March 15, 1952 in Sevierville. The Rev. Frank Davenport officiated. Their family includes children Sandy and Terry Davis of Maryville and Lisa Lonas of Friendsville. They have three grandchildren. Mr. Fowler is retired from American General Insurance Company. Mrs. Fowler is retired from the University of Tennessee. Fowler, Ralph D. age 69 of Louisville died Saturday, March 23, 2002 at University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a retired General Manager with American General Insurance Company with 40 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Minnie Fowler; brothers, William and Frank Fowler; sister, Myrtle Smelcer. Survivors include wife, Colene Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Terry Davis of Maryville; daughter, Lisa Lonas of Friendsville ; grandchildren, Jacob Lonas, Caroline Lonas, Matthew Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Winifred and Fred Henderson; sisters, Ruth Thurman and Mildred Hatcher all of Sevierville; sisters-in-law, Elise Fowler and Bea Fowler; mother-in-law, Lavana Sims; brother-in-law, Johnny Sims. Funeral Service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday , March 26, 2002 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Morutary with Rev. John Coates and Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Family and friends will assemble for the entombment at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Dotson Memorial Baptist Church, 814 Dotson Memorial Road, Maryville, TN 37801. Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
