Jerry Lean Woods , age 97, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Tennova Convalescent Center.
She was a member of New Zion AME Zion Church of Newport and was a lifelong resident of Cocke County.
The last of five siblings, she was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Addie B. Woods , daughter Elizabeth Ann Clark Riley, and great-grandson Stephen Huff.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Garland A. Clark, William A. (Patricia) Clark, Eric D. Clark, and Sheila D. Clark; devoted nephew John A. Manning; nephews Sanford and Eddie Woods devoted great-grandson Christopher Huff; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth (Nikki) Clark, Erica Clark, Shawn Cobbs, Shahid Clark, and Madison Clark; several great-great-grandchildren including Ariel Gordon, Tysen Simpson, Tasean Simpson, Paisley Huff, and Malachi Foster, and special friend Joan Lambert.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tennova Convalescent and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, Butch Haney, Donna Huff, Rev. Rosie Cuberson, and New Zion AME Zion Church.
A private family service will be held.
