ROBERTS , WILLIAM C. "BILL" - of Knoxville, passed away Friday, July 22, 2005 at Ft. Sanders NHC. He was a member of Second United Methodist Church and Masters Lodge #244 F&AM and Scottish Rites. He was a Sgt. in the Army during WWII. He served in the European Theatre of Operations where he earned the Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. He also received the American Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. He was the owner of Starlite Bowling Lanes. Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Tallent Roberts . Survived by son, Steven W. Roberts grandson, Jason S. Roberts brother, Ernest Roberts several nieces and nephews. The family had a private graveside service. Rev. M.C. Taylor officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second United Methodist Church, 1524 Western Ave., Knoxville, TN 37921.
