She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church; retired in 1993 from Watson's Market Square with 37 years of service; a member of and past Matron of Eastern Star Acacia-May 24. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Pearl Norman Cooper; son, Jimmy Pickens; brothers, Howard, Charles, Sam Jr. and David; sisters, Bonnie Cooper, Opal Tallent, Janet Acuff, and Frances Simpson. Survived by husband of 62 years, James V. "Bud" Pickens; children, Robert (Barbara) Pickens, Doug Pickens; daughter-in-law, Anne Pickens; grandchildren, Robin (David) Smith, Wendy (John) Branch, Jessie (Carrie) Pickens, Seth Pickens, Amanda Muelliman; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Cooper, Mildred (Fred) Braden, Sue Dawn, Faye Cooper and John Gentry; sisters-in-law, Nancy Cooper, Ruth Cooper, Jerry Day, Dana (Kyle) Weaver; brother-in-law, Curt (Ruth) Pickens; many special nephews and nieces. Special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice team of Rhonda, Christy, and Angie. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ed Arnett Sunday School Class.
