Pickens, Lillian Marie Cooper, age 84, of Knoxville, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at home after a short illness. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church; retired in 1993 from Watson's Market Square with 37 years of service; a member of and past Matron of Eastern Star Acacia-May 24. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Pearl Norman Cooper; son, Jimmy Pickens; brothers, Howard, Charles, Sam Jr. and David; sisters, Bonnie Cooper, Opal Tallent, Janet Acuff, and Frances Simpson. Survived by husband of 62 years, James V. "Bud" Pickens; children, Robert (Barbara) Pickens, Doug Pickens; daughter-in-law, Anne Pickens; grandchildren, Robin (David) Smith, Wendy (John) Branch, Jessie (Carrie) Pickens, Seth Pickens, Amanda Muelliman; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Cooper, Mildred (Fred) Braden, Sue Dawn, Faye Cooper and John Gentry; sisters-in-law, Nancy Cooper, Ruth Cooper, Jerry Day, Dana (Kyle) Weaver; brother-in-law, Curt (Ruth) Pickens; many special nephews and nieces. Special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice team of Rhonda, Christy, and Angie. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ed Arnett Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Graveside services will be Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Meridian Baptist Church, 6513 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
