SMITH, MARIE N. - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2003 following a lengthy illness. She was a World War II Army Veteran, and she was a member of the Eastern Star #460 in Kodak. Marie was also a member of the Knoxville P.B.X./Telecommuters Club where she served as local past president and state past president. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles E. Smith a son, James (Jim) L. Lauderdale her mother and father, Nell and Burnett Neas, Sr. a sister, Maxine Boles and a brother, James Neas. Survivors include: a sister, Norma Ricker a brother, L.B. Neas, Jr. a daughter-in-law, Irene Lauderdale 2 grandsons, Darrel and Douglas Lauderdale a granddaughter, Allison Lauderdale of Colorado and special nephews, David Ricker, Gary Ricker, and Kenneth Smith. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. with services following at 8 p.m. in Highland South Funeral Home Chapel with Eastern Star officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21 in the Highland South Memorial Park with military honors being performed by the Volunteer State Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be: David Ricker, Kenneth Smith, Pete Tauscher, Micky Smith, Nicky Smith, and Douglas Lauderdale. Honorary pallbearers will be: members of the former P.B.X. Club, Woody and Linda Lawson, and Demp Maples. Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations, Chapman Hwy., is assisting the family with arrangements. 573-7300.
