July 10, 1943 - August 21, 2014 Resided in Sevierville, TN Ray Anthony "Tony" Proffitt, age 71 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, August 21. He was a member of Sims Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Proffitt was the County Commissioner for the 3rd District for 20 years. He was a wildlife officer for TWRA for 36 years. He was also a school resource officer for 7 years and a member of the Sevier County Rescue Squad for 35 years. Mr. Proffitt's hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors, as well as spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his father Ray Proffitt, mother Cordelia Teague Proffitt, and mother-in-law Doris Chaney.
