WOLIVER , HOYT R. age 87, of South Knoxville, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Tennova Hospice Care. He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Leona Woliver ; wife, Edith Hendren Woliver ; brothers, E.L. and Hubert (Chub) Woliver . He is survived by his son, Fred L. Woliver and wife, Evelyn; brother, Charles L. Woliver and wife, Dorsey; sisters-in-law, Ruth Woliver and Billie Woliver ; grandchildren, David Woliver and Mary Beth Meadows and husband, Steve; great-grandchildren, Ella and Bettie Meadows; special friend, Betty Lyle. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner's mate on the destroyer escort USS Brough and made 11 trips across the Atlantic. He worked at Oak Ridge as a sheet-metal worker and for the Knox County Sherriff's Office under Sheriffs E.B. Boles and Paul Lilly. He also worked for the L&N and CSX Railroads for 42 years. He and his brother, Charles, were the last steam locomotive engineers for the L&N Railroad. A special thank you to all the nurses and care givers at Tennova Hospice Care for your love and care.
