LATHAM, MARGARET ( MAXEY ) age 85, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 12, 2011. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Mrs. Latham was involved in the Banking Industry and retired from FDIC. During WWII, Margaret worked as the meteorologists' aide, providing weather reports to pilots at McGhee-Tyson Airport. Mrs. Latham was a member of the Bonny Kate Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid Lady Vols fan and Booster Club member. Preceded in death by parents, John and Hazel Maxey ; loving husband of 59 years, Herman L. Latham. Survived by son, Stan Latham; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and James Ferrell; granddaughter, Anna Ferrell; sister, Helen Webb; and brother, Bill Maxey ; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Little Creek for their loving care. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12:00 noon for a graveside service, with Pastor Eric Leubtke officiating.
