HOPSON , FLOYD D., SR. - age 80, of Halls, passed away Monday, January 13, 2003, at his home. He was a member of Third Creek Baptist Church and attended Emory Pike American Christian Church, and was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Fielden and Rachel Hopson infant son, Jackie Ray Hopson , and sister, Dorothy Nelson. Survived by wife of 61 years, Bertha Hopson children, Donnie and Gary of Knoxville, Mark of Talbott grandchildren, Joe, Betsey, Sarah, Josh, Rachel, Stephanie and Evan great-grandchildren, Amarie, Darby, Matthew, Storm and Evee, and several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted and loving husband and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything in the world. Family and friends will meet at Emory Pike American Christian Church Cemetery 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for a graveside service at 11 a.m., Rev. Dallas Harrell and Rev. Darrell Valentine officiating.
