Ogle went home to be with the Lord and with Glenna on Thursday, July 21, 2005. He was born December 18, l9l9 in Gatlinburg Tennessee in what is now the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Barney was a charter member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in England and Germany. He was an avid hiker, loved to travel and read. Of special interest to him was hiking in the Smokies with the Thursday hikers. He has hiked most every trail in the Smokies. Barney is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Nancy Elizabeth Ogle, brothers, Robert, Arlie, Walter, Russell, Homer, Fred, Clifford, Sisters, Julia Lucretta, Pearl, Trula, and Beulah and his beloved wife Glenna. To mourn his passing Barney leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Judith Shoemaker, three grandchildren, Aaron Atchley and wife Robbin, Allen Atchley, and Adrienne and husband Steve O’Fallon. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Stephen and Summer O’Fallon, and special friend Nancy Jackson. He is also survived by a brother Luther Ogle and sister, Stella Dodgen. Many thanks go to the wonderful staff at Wellington Place and Adventa Hospice.
