WARD , REV. SAMUEL H. JR. - age 72 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church, 32 degree mason and member of Mt. View Masonic Lodge # 519 F & AM and a Scottish Rite. Retired from ALCOA and member of the 25 year club. He enjoyed fishing and camping and was a school bus driver for the Maryville City Schools for the past eleven years and was also a Chaplain at Maryville Towers in Maryville. Preceded in death by: first wife, Glovia Jo Ward grandson, Samuel Williamson parents, Samuel H. Sr. and Annie Amburn Ward brother, Andy Ward . Survivors include: wife, Brenda Ward daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and David Hitson of Maryville, Angie and Greg Williamson of Rutledge son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Vickie Ward of Maryville grandchildren and spouses, Ben and Rachel Ward , Nikki and Micah Welch, Jacob, Matthew and Sarah Jo Williamson step grandson and wife, Tony and Shana Hitson great grandchildren, Thomas Cade Welch step children, Michael Stone and Laura King both of Maryville step grandchildren, Joey King, Ashley King, Thomas Kennedy, Elizabeth Kennedy brother, Harold Ward of Knoxville sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Mac McCain of Maryville sister, Deedie Brantley of Maryville several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 at Friendship Baptist Church, 3310 Old Niles Ferry Rd., Maryville, Rev. Ben Ward and Rev. Greg Williamson officiating. Family request all flowers to be delivered to the church anytime after 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery for Masonic graveside service with graveside service and interment to follow. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 4035, Maryville, TN. 37802. Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
