Mrs. Lena Campbell McMahan , age 87, of Newport, passed awayFriday, November 13, 2009, at Baptist Hospital West following a brief illness. She was a devoted and loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and RildaCampbell; husband Lush McMahan ; son Keith "Goob" McMahan ; sisterLettie Evans; and brothers Clyde, Charlie, and Chole Campbell. She is survived by her sons Glenn (Judy) Campbell ofSpartanburg, SC; Sammy (Vickie) McMahan and Kenny McMahan , all of Newport;daughters Brenda Seay, Ann (Jack) Smith, and Lena Mae McMahan , all of Newport;seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister Lora Mae Valentine,Cosby; brothers Clay, Claude, Clifford, and Carl Campbell , all of Spartanburg,SC. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday, November16, 2009, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home chapel with Brother Johnny Buggofficiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday November 17,2009, at Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.
