November 21, 1946 - May 3, 2015
Freddy (Fred) Paul Romines, age 68, of South Knoxville, passed away on Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at 12:05am. He has gone home to be with the Lord after a long fight with cancer. Fred was a member of South Knoxville Church of God; and a 1965 graduate of Holston High School; he served in the U.S. Army; and in the Tennessee Defense Force. Fred worked at the Y-12 Facility and retired in 2000 from the X-10 Plant. In addition, he owned and operated his own business, Complete Central Air Systems for 35 years. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Bertie Romines; brothers, Ray, Frank and Edward Romines; and special niece, Terry Kaye Ayers. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Creda (Pat) Romines; dearly loved granddaughter, Mallory Shea Romines; children; Fredrick (Tina) Romines, Tarci (Steve) Raycraft, Susan Prince; grandchildren, Tiffany (J.R.) LaFore, Tarran (Dallas) Allen, Stephanie Prince, Abby Prince, Timothy Mathes II, Alexis Raycraft, Hunter Raycraft, and Zander Raycraft; great-grandchildren Preston LaFore, Nathan LaFore, Victoria Allen, and Emma Allen; sister, Mary Headrick; brothers, Bruce (Barbara) Romines; Charlie (Eva) Romines; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the U.T. Hospice staff and PCM staff. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. A funeral service will follow at 8:00pm and will be officiated by Rev. Robert Branch and Rev. Ernest Scruggs. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:30am at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway with full military honors.
