From Me To Thee
What can I leave you-I ask myself.
Will it be enough, or will you be left
With eyes that are blind and cannot see
The beauty of life as it ought to be
Woe is me!
What can I leave you-I ask myself.
Ears that are deaf and cannot remember
The song of love so soft and tender
As it is sung by many … or one
What have I done!
What can I leave you-I ask myself.
A heart that is cold to pain and grief
Of those around you who are out of the fold
Of life’s good fortune no faith to renew
This can’t be you !
I know what I’ll leave you – I tell myself
I’ll leave you my love as in the past.
Take it and wear it and make it last
As long as you live and when you pass,
You give it up to someone else
Be sure they know the value of it’s worth.
Now I can go !
