He was a graduate of Sevier County High School and Tennessee Tech. He served four years in the United States Air Force. Bill’s professional life was spent in the automotive manufacturing industry and his principal pastime was golf. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude, Sr. and Nina Lindsey Ownby. He is survived by his Wife: Mary Ownby Sons: David Ownby and wife Laurence, Ted Ownby and wife Susan Grandchildren: Aaron, Jules, and Theo Ownby and Meghan Ruth Harrod Brother: Claude Ownby, Jr. and wife Maxine In-laws: Donald Williams and wife Betty, Dean Shields, Phyllis Williams, Joe Williams and wife Libby, Paul Williams and wife Alma, Kenneth Williams and wife Sue, David Williams, Janice Whaley and husband Dobber Special friends: Karen Potje, Joyce and Howard Hodges A host of much-loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
