(September 10, 1950 - April 17, 2006) Nadine “Cook” Woods Blue, of Newport, born September 10, 1950, passed away Monday April 17, 2006 at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville. She was surrounded by many loved ones at the time of her passing. The family was comforted at their time of need by Rev. Josephine Bryson and Rev. Donna Branner. Nadine was employed by Mariner Health for the last 16 years. She was loved and will be missed by many in the community. She was preceded in death by parents, David and Mary Woods; grandparents, R. J. and Polly Owensby; granddaughter, Jasmine Ray; uncle, June Swagerty; aunt, “Seal” and brother-in-law, Charlie Moore. She left behind to cherish her memory: husband, Billy Blue; children, Dion Ray (Nakia); Lucy Ray (Ken); Daniel Ray (Pamela); Isreal Ray (Melissa); Tina Ray (Joe) and Mark Kyle(Sharee); grandchildren, Jeremy, James, Terry, Porschea, Jaleesa, Martika, Tori, Darion, Diona, Kanisha, Samantha, Daniel , KJ, Jaolyhia, Shanice, Devan, Deja, Shauna, Johnathan, Shayla, Tyreek, Cierra and Marquade,sister Geraldine Hammond (Clarence) sister Charlotte Moore brother LeRoy Swagerty (Rosemary) brother David Woods (Donnie), Hobert Woods (Betty) a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and special friends, Sherry, Lisa, and Amy (Mariner Health) Jackie Olden, Terra Stewart, Sherry Schoolfield, Armanda and Cherrelle McMahan, Carla Dockery and Geral “Babe” Brass. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday April 21, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josephine Bryson and Rev. Donna Branner officiating. Burial will be in the Gum Springs Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends 12noon until 2 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral services at Manes Funeral Home.
