Linda Kay Davidson was born on October 16 , 1947 and, after a lengthy illness , departed this life on January 1 , 2004 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, Morristown, TN. She was a devoted Christian and member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Newport, TN. Prior to her illness , she was active in the church choir, served as church treasurer, and as a trustee of the church. She will be remembered for her love and faithfulness as a wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Linda Kay truly loved the Lord, and it was obvious by her daily walk. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Woods, Sr.; brothers, Wayne Swagerty and Walter Woods, Jr.; sister, Charlotte Nan Woods; aunts, Lucille Swagerty and Mary Woods; and uncles, William "June", Charlie, and Eugene Swagerty. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Willie Davidson , Sr.; two sons, Tom and Willie Davidson , Jr.; loving daughter, Kim Davidson ; seven grandchildren, Rashad, Terrence, Tyreek, and Barbara Davidson , D.J. Haney, Chyna Swagerty, and Austin Jenkins; her beloved mother, Kathleen Swagerty; brothers, Keith Swagerty, Gary and wife Gail Woods, Leo and wife Ruth Woods of Newport, Melvin and wife Sara Lee Woods of Dandridge, and Ben and wife Sherry Carr of Jefferson City; aunts, Sally Swagerty, Carrie Swagerty, and Theola Brown of Newport, Hilda Swagerty of Chicago, IL, and Sarah Katherine Nettles of Detroit, MI; uncle, Fred Swagerty of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends; and special lifetime friends, Phyllis Ramsey and Betty Gudger. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2004 from 6 to 7 p.m., and the funeral will begin at 7 p.m. the same evening at Manes Funeral Home, Newport, TN. Interment will be at 10 a .m.
