Ownby, age 90 of Jones Cove, Sevier County, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 13, 2005. He was a member of Pearl Valley Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He retired from Sevier County Highway Department as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by father and mother John Walker Ownby and Printha Ann Roberts Ownby, brothers Conley, Herbert, and John Walker Jr. Ownby, sisters Delia Rolen, Hettie Rolen, and Myrtle Howard, and two baby brothers. Survivors: Wife of 67 years: Martha Ownby A host of nieces, nephews, and friends In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pearl Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Secretary, 2803 Pittman Center Road, Sevierville, TN 37876. Funeral service 10 AM Monday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Tom McMahan and Rev. Andy Ball officiating. Interment will follow in Marion Ownby Cemetery.
