He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank James and Jean Newman Cole; grandparents, Allen Walter and Nancy Williamson Cole, Samuel Wesley Newman and Adra Proffitt Newman. He is survived by his sister Joanne C. Shults and husband James Lee; brother, Gary A. Cole and wife Laura; nephews, Joseph J. Shults and wife Elena, Jeffrey A. Shults, Allen P.
