BOZEMAN , THE HONORABLE JUDGE C. HOWARD age 93, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Trinity Hills Assisted Living Community. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville. Judge Bozeman was the longest serving County Judge of Knox County for over 25 years from 1948-1966 and 1974-1982. Judge Bozeman also served on the Tennessee Supreme Court. He was Potentate of Kerbela Shrine Temple, a member of the Scottish and York Rites, and a 33rd Degree Mason as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Shrine Children's Hospitals and Burns Institutes. He is a past president of the University of Tennessee Alumni Association and a graduate of UT and UT College of Law as well as an active member of Sertoma and served as President of the Great Smoky Mountains Council for the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara Ann Newman Bozeman 90; sons Barry Russell Bozeman of Knoxville, Dr. Charles Howard Bozeman II and wife Linda of Sevierville, David Bryan Bozeman and wife Gena of Crossville and Samuel Ross Bozeman and wife Dr. Megan Murray of Cambridge Ma; grandchildren Leslie Bozeman Koester and husband Devin of Sevierville, Allison Bozeman Lawhon and husband Ben of Lyons, CO, Dr. Sarah Bozeman Lewis and husband Dr. Scott Lewis of Somerset, KY, Charles Howard Bozeman III of Sevierville, Bryan Benjamin Bozeman of Crossville, Brownyn, Caleb, and Ursula Murray- Bozeman of Cambridge MA; and great grandchildren Kent and Maci Koester of Sevierville, Cullen Lawhon of Lyons, CO and Owen and Evan Lewis of Somerset, KY. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Knoxville officiated by Dr. William D. Shiell. The family will receive friends with a reception immediately following the funeral service at the church in the Blue Room. Family and friends will meet at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 9:00 a.m. Masonic interment service officiated by the Shekinah Lodge #524 F&AM. The body will lie in state at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospitals, The Great Smoky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts, The Sertoma Center, or First Baptist Church of Knoxville.
