WHITFIELD, JAMES H. - age 80 of Seymour passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He attended the Providence Baptist Church in Seymour, worked for the Knoxville News Sentinel for 27 years and retired from Robert Shaw after 13 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Carley Whitfield, mother, Arie Adylott, and brothers, Hershel Whitfield and Bill Pitts. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Irene Whitfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dave Russell of Morristown, Jo and John Kreis, Jill and Steve Tipton, and Cindy and Andy Cantillo all of Seymour; grandchildren, Brian Kreis of Las Vegas, Melissa Hutchison of Knoxville, Clay and Marshall Tipton, Cristi Taylor, Whitney and Marley Cantillo all of Seymour; 4 great grandchildren, Jacey Russell, Willie and Renee Hutchison, and Jacob Tipton; sisters, Louise Royer of Newbern, TN, and Jean Palmer of Dyersburg, TN; sisters-in-law, Toots Whitfield of Tiptonville, TN, and Linda Pitts of Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 8:00 PM in the chapel of Highland South with Rev. Dallas Gibson and Rev. Chris Partain officiating. Interment services will be on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Highland South Memorial Park with Neal Battle, Jack Reagan, David Booker, Chatman Sieber, Lester Arnold, Ronnie Marine, Clay Tipton and Marshall Tipton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations 573-7300
