U.S. Veteran Ralph E. Long, age 88, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae (Swaney) Long; parents, Kenneth Guy and Mary Hazel Long; brothers, Homer and Horace Long; sisters, Delsie Spence and Pauline Forster; step-grandson, Scott Gredig. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and Patty Long, Keith and Donna Long; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Deck; grandchildren, Chad Long, Kevin Kagley, Brad Long, Micah (Trent) Stewart, Matthew (Farrah) Deck, Kristin (Tim) Merriman; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Long; special caregivers, Clarissa Hobby, Brenda Ball, Melissa Kirkland, and Becky McBrayer; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with interment to follow at Mtn.
