Delsie Irene Long Spence, passed away peacefully after suffering from a long illness for 19 year. She was a member of Carpenters United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Hazel Long; brother, Homer Long and infant brother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Spence; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Charles Ridings, Jean and Benny Finley; son and daughter-in-law, John and Delsa Spence; son, Ed Spence; grandchildren, Chuck Ridings, Jena Orr, Crystal Spence, John Alan Spence and wife Brittany, Katie Spence; great grandchildren, Seana Spence, Jake Spence; brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace and Ollie Long, Ralph and Edna Mae Long, Bill and Phyllis Long; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Ray Forrester; special neighbors, Wayne and Jan Teffeteller; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their thanks to all the staff on the 4th Floor, and Emergency Room staff at Blount Memorial Hospital, The House Call Nurses and all friends and family who was there for us.
Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Carpenters United Methodist Church Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Kenneth Tucker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
