Thomas (Tom) Jerry Arms, 86, of Maryville, passed away March 31, 2015, in Maryville, TN. Tom was born in Seminole, OK to Thomas John and Ruby Arms, both deceased, on March 18, 1929. He was a MSGT in the USAF and retired after 20 years. He and his wife, Wanda of 64 years, owned and operated the two KFC stores in Maryville for 22 years. They also owned Ham'N Goodys, The Country Kitchen, and a water bed store. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ruby Arms; three brothers, Rueben Arms, Donald Arms, Herman Grady Arms and his sister, Theda Walland.
Tom is survived by his wife, Wanda Arms; three daughters, Sherry Knox of Knoxville, Lana Arms of Atlanta, GA, and Tina Boring and husband, Mark, of Maryville; grandson, Tony Knox, of San Francisco, CA; granddaughter, Melissa Graves and husband, Mitch, of Dallas, TX; He is also survived by his sister, Reba Sue Cunningham and husband, Mike, of Fresno, CA; brother, Harold Arms of Long Beach, CA; close family friend, Jennifer Gregory.
The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Church with Reverend Michael W. Parker of New Hope Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Clark's Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 605 Dotson Memorial Road, Maryville, TN 37801.
