HOUSEWRIGHT, BETTY JOANN - age 59, passed away Monday afternoon, August 16, 1999. She was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee football team. Mrs. Housewright was a deputy clerk in General Sessions Court. Preceded in death by her mother, Eula Mae Stroud. Her survivors include her husband, Calvin; children, Karen Hubbs, Gale and Bob Shown, Jeff and Terry Turner, Lisa and Jeff Tarver and Tim Housewright ; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Teresa Stroud; grandchildren, Amber, Whitney and Matthew Shown, Tyler Turner, Paul, Brent and Jeffrey Tarver; stepchildren, Suzi and Kyle Johnson, Laura Housewright ; step-grandson, Bradley (Buzz) Johnson; stepbrother, Jarvis Stroud; nephew and nieces, Brandon, Tiffany, and Courtney Taylor Stroud; uncles, Carl and Hershel Jenkins . Family and friends will meet at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel Thursday by 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service with Chaplain Dan Hix officiating. Pallbearers: Tom Brown, Carleton Bryant, Mike Chase, Jae Davis, Mike Floyd and William (Bug) Lane. The family request memorials be made to the Department of Pastoral Care, Baptist Hospital, 137 Blount Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
