WALTERS , MARY MARGARET LOY - age 78, of New Market, passed away 1:20 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2000, at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County and active in community affairs for many years. She was a lifelong member of Loy Memorial United Methodist Church and she exhibited her love for Christ as an active member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She touched the lives of many young people as an employee of the Jefferson County School System with 17 years of service. Survived by and will be missed by devoted husband of 58 years, Ed Walters of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Beth Walters of Jefferson City, Tenn., Sam and Marda Walters of Suwanee, Ga., Michael and Trecia Walters of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., and Mark and Mary Walters of Talbott, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; brother, James M. (Todd) Loy , Jr. and sister, Elizabeth Ann (Sib) Brower, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews, and many, many loving and caring friends and neighbors. Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2000, at Loy Memorial United Methodist Church, New Market, with Reverend Millard Johnson and Reverend Henry Harlow officiating. Interment to follow in the JeffersonMemorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 6, 2000, from 6-8 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Loy Memorial United Methodist Church, 934 Church View Street, New Market, TN 37820.
