Mary Florence Woods, age 63, of Newport, passed away, Monday, March 2, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was a Registered Nurse (RN) for many years. Mary retired in June 2013, from Greene Valley Development Center, Greeneville TN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Barnett and Kate Delores Woods, Sr.; grandparents Miles and Elise Davison, Sarah Woods; brothers, Edward Barnett (EB) Woods Jr.; sisters, Glenda Faye Stewart and Janice Maria Bethea; uncle, Elfonzo Davidson; and niece, Kalenda Faye Knight. She leaves to mourn: her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Jamye (Fred) Ray (Louisville, TN); grandchildren; Isaiah Manuel, Makayla Woods, Lakelyn Kate Branner, Jordan Woods, and Michael Ray; great-granddaughter, Destiny Ray; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra (Harold) Grace, (Santa Rosa, CA), sister and brother-in-law, Catrina (Bobby) Knight (Newport, TN); brothers, Kevin (Karen) Woods (Newport, TN), Phillip (Darlene) Woods (Winston Salem, NC) and Wesley Woods Sr. (Newport, TN); uncle, Robert Woods (Newport, TN); sister-in-law, Charlaine Woods; brothers-in-law, Terry E. Stewart and Randy Bethea; nieces: Terra Stewart (Newport, TN), Christy Manuel (Fredericksburg, VA), Stacey (Scotty) Dykes (Knoxville, TN), Candice Woods, Tasha Treece, all of (Newport, TN), Jennifer Woods (Durham, NC), Whitney Woods, Chole Woods, Lexi Woods, all of (Newport, TN), Charlene (Robert) Shelton (Sterling, VA), Deniene (David) Jones (Nashville, TN), Kahlilah Baltimore (Sterling, VA); nephews: Derrick (Tessa) Woods (Parrottsville, TN), Bryan (Oxana) Stewart (Alabama), Wesley Woods Jr. (Clarksville, TN), Chase Woods, Max Woods, all of (Newport, TN), Darian (Tiffany) Woods, Phillip “PJ”(Zar) Woods, Tyler (Kayla) Woods (Winston Salem, NC) and a host of great nieces, great nephews; friends and niece Pup Dixie Knight. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2015 with funeral services following at 8:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mark Kitts, Rev. Ron Carroll and Rev. Rosie K. Cuberson officiating. Entombment will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum.
