(February 10, 1931 - December 18, 2015) Ruth M. Yates, age 84, of Newport, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at Newport Convalescent Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Claude Yates: daughter, Brenda Ramsey; grandson, Ronnie Ray Ramsey; parents, Ottis and Celia Worley; sisters, Ruby Williamson and Letha Bradley; and brothers, Elmer Worley and Claude Worley. She is survived by her son, Charles (Pam) Yates of Newport; daughters, Joyce (Junior) Rolen of Cosby, Diane (Joel) Bautista of Newport, Linda Hembree (Charles Swanson) of Newport, and Charlotte K. Erikson of Newport; brothers, Joe B. Worley of Cosby and Clifford Worley of Knoxville; sisters, Pearl Fann of Cosby and Mary Williamson of Knoxville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Williamson and Rev. Doug Messer officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday. December 22, 2015 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to funeral service.
