Mr. James Michael Allison age 62 of Shelbyville, passed from this life Tuesday morning, Sept. 8, 2015 at his home with his family at his bedside. Born January 31, 1953 in Maryville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William "Clyde" & Effie Hatcher Allison.
Mr. Allison was a Commissioner of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, South Eastern Conference Instant Replay Football Official, board member of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Rotary Club International member and belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville. He was also the former CEO of Duck River Electric Co-Op and former Traders Bank board member. Preceding his career as a football official he was on the 1970 Maryville High School State Championship team and was selected to the Associated Press All-State team, Knoxville Journal All-State team, and All-East Tennessee squad. He went on to play football for the University of Tennessee in 1971-72 and was inducted into the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
Survivors; his wife of 18 years Kimberly Kaye Allison, daughter; Dr. Jennifer Allison (Brian) Winbigler and their children, Max & Wyatt James Winbigler all of Maryville, son; Robert “Mike” (Chelsea) Allison of Maryville, siblings; Patrisha "Trish" (George) Corbitt of Knoxville and DeLane Allison of Murphy, NC, nieces, Katrina Holt & Madelyn Willhite and nephew, Jason Anderson.
