Glenn O. Tinker, age 78 of Maryville, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. Glenn was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a long-time employee of Twin City Buick before joining MasterCraft Boat Company. Glenn enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, playing cards, working in the garden and spending time with his family. He also loved a good laugh, restoring muscle cars and playing with his dogs.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty, of Maryville; daughter, Sandy Tinker-Boatwright and husband David, of Cleveland, TN; son, Rick Tinker and wife Betsy, of Maryville; grandsons, Drew Tinker and Skyler Boatwright; brother and sister-in-law, Garland and Dorothy Tinker, of Maryville; a very special sister-in-law, Flo Shirley; brothers-in-law, Hunter McCain and wife Judy, Tom McCain and wife Suzy, Jim McCain and wife Tina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville. A memorial service will follow with Monsignor Xavier Mankel presiding.
Family and friends will meet on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service. Pallbearers are: Hunter McCain, Tom McCain, Jim McCain, David Boatwright, Mike Shirley and Joey Cable. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn's two grandsons.
The family would like to thank Shane McLemore and the UT Hospice personnel.
