Cripps, I.B. went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2009 with family by his side. He was born in Collin County, Texas on October 9, 1923 to Ike and Dora Cripps. He worked for Shugarts in Garland for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 9 brothers and sister's; previous wife, Pannie Cripps; sons, Craig Cripps and Bill Varner. I.B. is survived by his wife, Jan Cripps; sister, Auda Wallen of Greenville, Texas; grandson, Shane Varner and wife, Chandra of Blue Ridge, Texas; granddaughter, Shonda Powell and husband, Jeff of Blue Ridge, Texas; brother-in-law, J.C. Richmond and wife of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Shirley Ruth Simmons and husband of Louisiana; great-grandsons, Jacob Varner, Garrett Varner and Joshua Powell, all of Blue Ridge, Texas; step-daughter, Raenell Blackwall and family and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009, First Baptist Church of Garland, Cockrell Chapel with Rev. Jack Schmid officiating.
