Whaley, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 7, 2004, in a local hospital. He was the son of the late Leona White Whaley and Claude Whaley. He was a well-known grocery man in the Cleveland area most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, DeVal Clark and her husband, Marty; and one grandson, Judson Clark, all of Madison, Ga.; one uncle; and several aunts. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted today, Oct. 10, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Minister David Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. [S142] Newspaper Article, 10 Oct 2004.
