Earl Mitchell Huskey age 81 of Gatlinburg, TN., passed away March 8, 2008 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
He was a World War II Veteran serving in Europe.
Earl was of the Baptist Faith. He helped organize and was the first Chief of the Pittman Center Volunteer Fire Department and he also helped organize the Antioch South Carolina Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a retired employee ( serving 34 years ) of The National Park Service.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ethel Ownby Huskey; Brothers and Sisters, Burl Huskey and wife, Eleanor; Myrtle Huskey Fish; and Mittie Huskey McCarter.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; Daughters Vickie McCarter; Sharon Wilson; Son-in-law, Baron Wilson; Grandson, Brooks Wilson and wife, Megan; Casey Wilson; Sister, Beulah Huskey Partridge; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Edna Shults; Ray and Juanita Shults; Ray and Beverly Shults; Wayne and Doris Shults; Many Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.
Services will be held 7:00 p.m. at Rawlings Funeral Home with Rev, Bob Huskey officiating.
The Family will meet at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Rawlings and go in procession to Tudor Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. interment service.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Pittman Center Volunteer Fire Department
