Ben Earl Campbell, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2015, in Alcoa, TN at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Earl Campbell, Sr., mother Priscilla Lewallen Campbell Kilday, stepfather W. Paul Kilday. Ben is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Day Campbell; Children, Karen (Campbell) and Marty Wild of Carrollton, Ga, Michael Ben and Karen Fox Campbell of Loudon County, Brian Lewallen and Allison Creech Campbell of Knoxville, and Lisa (Campbell) and Doug Simpson of Alcoa. Sisters: Pam Kilday Thompson of White Pine and Susan (Kilday) and Dan Clifton of Louisville, TN. Grandchildren: Bailey and Lindsay Wild, Madison and Mason Campbell, Jackie, Grace, and Mike Campbell II, and Andrew, Ethan and Joshua Simpson. Ben Earl Campbell, Jr. was born on November 9, 1942, in Maryville, TN to Priscilla and the late Ben Earl Campbell, Sr. Priscilla married Paul Kilday in 1945 who raised Ben as his own. Ben married Joyce Day Campbell, his high school sweetheart in 1963. After volunteering to serve four years in the United States Marine Corps the couple moved to Alcoa where he was employed at Alcoa Inc. as a Mechanic Craft Specialist for 39 years and served as a Local 309 Union leader. Ben was a leader of his in home small group worship and fellowship sessions as an active and dedicated member of the Maryville Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, February 2, 2015 followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm at the Maryville Church of Christ, 611 Sherwood Drive, Maryville, TN 37802. The inurnment service will be held at Grandview Cemetery at 3:00pm on February 3, 2015.
