Mr. Joe Talton, 91, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. He was a native of Greene County, the son of the late William and Nina Franklin Talton. He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Lulu; one son, Dennis Keith Talton; and two Grandsons, Travis and Kevin Costner. Mr. Talton was a World War II Army Veteran and he retired from Ford Motor Company. Survivors include his beloved wife, Doris Talton; two sons, Mike and Dave Talton (Christine), Jonesborough; four daughters, Nina Oswald (Frank), Jennifer Costner (Terry), Margaret Fossett (Danny), all of Jonesborough, and Sherry Norton, of the home; four brothers, Dewey, Ralph, Wallace and LV (Joann); one sister, Rosalee Jennings; 19 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Talton will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 8 p.m. at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Blazer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Tilman-Gosnel Cemetery in North Carolina.
