Leila Katheryn Bailey Ingle age 90, sat by the fire surrounded by her loving family where she peacefully passed on January 21, 2015, at the family home. Leila was born on August 24, 1924, to John Ralph and Birdie Melton Bailey in Knoxville. She grew up in South Knoxville with her siblings Ralph, Willard, Jack, Frank, Frances, Mary Jane, Dorothy and Billie. In 1941, she married Gilbert Sharpe Ingle Jr. Together they raised four children Katheryn Rose, Gilbert Sharp III, Judith Ann and Robert Vinsant. She was Granny to Dianne, Donnie, Janice, Stevie, Beth, Lori, Cindy, Jim, Ben, Vince, Nick and Amanda. She was Great Gran to 20, great grandchildren. After her husband passed Leila at age 62, went to dental assistant school graduating with honors. She worked side by side with her son Vince for 28 years. Leila loved all of her patients who affectionately knew her as Granny. Leila always had a kind word for them and asking about their families. Her family will have many cherished memories of their time with Leila at their cabin in Emerts Cove and homes in Florida. Also she was a wonderful teacher of life for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ingle; daughter, Judy Moore; granddaughter, Janice K. Sentell. Survived by daughter, Kathy (Don) Sentell; sons, Gilbert and Vince; sister, Billie (Fred) Scott; sister in law, Bunny Bailey; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 2:00 PM Saturday January 24, 2014, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jacksboro, TN Rev. James Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.www.millerfuneralhome.org(865)982-6041.
