  Sam Rolen was appointed Postmaster in Jones Cove 23 August 1875. He had also served as Sherriff of Sevier County, Tennessee, a Representative in Tennessee State Legislature and was owner/publisher of the county newspaper. Never married. ---------- Reference: T. D.
