DORSEY, PATRICIA NELL MOORE DAVIS age 77, of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was born November 27, 1934 in Chattanooga, the daughter of William and Elsie Lee Sampson Moore. Mrs. Dorsey worked as a sales representative for WATO Radio for many years. She was a member of Faith Promise Church and sang in the choir. Mrs. Dorsey was an avid fan of the Oak Ridge High School Wildcats and was a loyal member of the Booster Club. She loved Oak Ridge and the Smoky Mountains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, George C. Davis ; aunt, Ruth Sampson and second husband, Don Dorsey. She is survived by: sons, Robert Davis of Knoxville, George "Buddy" Davis , Jr. of Oak Ridge, Mark Davis of Myrtle Beach, SC and William Earl Davis of Oak Ridge; daughters, Elsie Taylor Sands of Seymour and Vivien Hedrick of Maryville; half-brother, Elvin Moore of Seymour; 2 grandchildren, Tammie Taylor of Seymour and Tim Hedrick of Maryville; great grandchild, Harley Hedrick of Alabama and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Weatherford Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Townsend. The family asks that any memorials be made to the Oak Ridge High School Booster Club in her memory. An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
