Charlotte Jena Myers , 61, of Madisonville, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at NHC Health Care of Athens. She was the widow of James Ray Myers , and was a daughter of the late Harvey and Gertie Alice Moore Gentry. She was preceded in death by one sister, Debra Shirk. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Kay Strickland Woods and her husband, Michael, of Madisonville, and Reecia Carlene Strickland Dodd and her husband, Kenny, of Etowah; two sons, Gerald Dewayne Strickland of Madisonville, and Paul Shane Strickland of Maryville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Lorene Russell of Vonore, Linda Yates of Greenback, and Martha Williams of Vonore; one brother, Jody Gentry of Madisonville; two half-sisters, Louise Boling and Shirley Dailey, both of Maryville; one half-brother, Melvin Cook of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Strickland and the Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
