Rites for Fire Victim To Be Held Monday
Last rites for Ens, Robert Clay Williams, 21, USN; a naval flying officer of 1015 Pacific avenue, who was burned to death in the Winecoff hotel fire in Atlanta, Ga., December 7, will be conducted at Mottell's chapel with the Rev. Johnston Calhous officiating at 2 p. m. Monday.
Williams was born in Manitou, Okla. and had lived in Long Beach 20 years. He attended elementary school here, was graduated from Polytechnic High school in 1943, and was a member of the Coinuu club of that school. He had served overseas and at Pensacola, Fla., and Norfolk, Va. He was an active duty and was en route to California when he stopped over in Atlanta withe fatal results.
He is survived by his parenst Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Williams, a brother Winford Craig Williams and a sister, Mrs. Juanita Verne, all of Long Beach.
Entombment will be in Angeles Abbey mausoleum, Compton.
