GRUGIN, DOUGLAS WADE, age 51, of Knoxville, passed away November 18, 2014 at his home. Doug was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and also enjoyed visiting East Maryville Baptist Church. Doug graduated from Doyle High School and attended UT. He worked at UPS for over 30 years and was looking forward to retirement in three years. Doug was a talented person and avid hunter. Preceded in death by grandparents, J.W. and Mabel Grugin; Andy and Lela Wright; brother, David Wayne Grugin; and sister, Donna Lane Phillips. Survived by wife of 27 years, Vicki Grugin; daughter, Shay Grugin; son, Christopher Grugin; mother, Ruth Grugin Beason; stepfather, Voyd Beason; father, Calvin Grugin of Joshua Tree, California; brother, Rodney Grugin (Lisa), Lenoir City; mother-in-law, Jean Whitaker; father-in-law, Edgar Whitaker (Frankie); sister-in-law, Pam Whitaker; brother-in-law, Mike Whitaker; four nieces and one nephew, which he loved dearly; lots of family and friends and special hunting buddies, David and Phillip Plemons, of Maryville; special neighbors, he loved to chat with, Lori and Steve Dixon and the Sharp and Romanowski families. Doug had a loving and giving heart and was always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with funeral services to follow at 8:00 P.M. with Reverend Keith Johnson officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 East Simpson Road for a 1:00 P.M. interment service.
