Preceded in death by husband, James A. Byrd; son, David E. Byrd (Bud); daughter, Francess Byrd Brewer Letheo. Survived by daughter, Barbara Proffitt; daughter in law, Joyce Byrd; granddaughters, Pam Brewer, Davenport, Kathy Byrd Percell, Jennifer Proffitt Mullins, Janice Proffitt Bridgett; grandsons, Jimmy, Chris, Joe Proffitt, and David Burkhart; 9 great grandsons; 5 great granddaughters; 2 great-great granddaughters; sister, Margaret Bragg; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers, Jimmy, Joe, and Chris Proffitt, Andy Davenport, Jason Mullins, and Scott Percell. Funeral services will be held Sun., Feb. 18, 2001 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of McCarty Mortuary. Officiating services will be Mrs. Byrd's great nephew, Rev. Jimmy Williams. Family and friends will meet Mon., At McCarty Mortuary at 12:45 p.m. to proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 2 p.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sun.. McCarty Mortuary in charge.
