BLAIR , JAMES CLAUDE - age 79, of Alcoa, passed away Tuesday morning, September 12, 2000, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Tuckaleechee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and Buy Ryall of Florida; grandsons, Todd and Michael; great-grandchildren, Paige and Anna; former wife and friend, Betty Blair of Maryville; brother, Herman Blair of Maryville; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2000, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Barry Woods and Rev. J. D. Blair officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel for cryptside service and entombment with full military honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Foundation in memory of Claude Blair . The family will receive friends 6-8p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
