BRUMMETT , LULA PRICE - age 93, of South Knoxville, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2000. Member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. After retiring from Knoxville Glove Company, Mrs. Brummett moved to Newport Richey, Fla. and was active in the Fred Astaire Dancers. After moving back to Knoxville, and while in her 70s and early 80s, she often took care of children for parents who were away on trips. Mrs. Brummett was preceded in death by husband, A. Herbert Brummett and great granddaughter, Bailey Rogers. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jack Rogers; grandsons, Larry Rogers and wife, Pat and Mike Rogers; great grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Zeke, and Zeb; nieces, Virginia Mannis and Joan Britton; and several other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Juanita Hickey and Carolyn Owens and all the staff at St. Mary's Home Health Care. Funeral 7 p.m. Thursday Berry Chapel. Rev. David Webster officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Highland South Cemetery for a 11 a.m. interment service.
